Chuck E. Cheese

Papa and Mimi treated the kids to an afternoon at Chuck E. Cheese's today. The kids had a blast. They used about 150 tokens in record time :)

My Little Man

Caleb. My little man. Ever since his first year he has been on the smaller side of life :) Since he was about 2 he has been going to see a specialist regarding his size. Initially it was to make sure nothing was going on with him causing him to grow at a slower rate and thankfully nothing has ever been wrong. He now goes every 2 years to get weighed and measured. He also gets his left hand x-rayed to check his bone age. Well this week, we went for his check-up with the specialist. He has been diagonosed with "Constitutional Growth Delay", what a mouthful that is :) What I've read about it on the internet says: "CGD appears in children usually of average size in early infancy. It causes them to undergo a period of slower-than-average growth between 6 months and 2 years of age, leading to their falling behind on the growth chart. After about age 2 or 3, they will start to grow at a normal childhood rate until they reach puberty and continue to grow at an older age, letting them "catch up" to their peers in final adult height" This describes Caleb totally, he was born an average weight, stayed at an average size for close to the first year, then started falling on the charts, down to the 5th percentile, then even off the charts. Then at about age 3 he started growing at a normal rate and has continued to do so. He had his hand x-rayed and the bones were measured again this week. His bone age is 5 years. Which basically means his body thinks it's 5 years old :) Sounds like something an older woman would do, lie about her age. haha!

Anyway that's the story with my boy and we think Caleb is perfect just the way he is, the way God created him!

Vacation Pictures - Part One

The Gateway Arch was our first destination. It was an awesome. It is 630 feet high and we went straight to the top. We were told we would take these trams up, well I imagined something similar to an elevator. I was so wrong! They were these little tiny pod-like things. We actually had to duck while we were in them they were so small. If you are claustrophobic whatsoever, don't dare get in one of these things :) Once at the top, the view was awesome!

Vacation Pictures - Part Two

The City Musuem. What an awesome place. They've built this place out of recycled materials, it was so cool. These pictures do it no justice whatsoever. They had so many different caves, tunnels, nooks and crannies for the kids to climb in and on. There was a circus inside as well. Outside they had old fire trucks and old airplanes high in the air, to get to them you had to climb through these huge coil things. It's so hard to describe, you just have to see it for yourself :)

Vacation Pictures - Part Three

Pictures from The Riverboat Cruise. Taylor and Caleb were both a little afraid of going on the boat; they are quite scared of the water, but they did great once we were cruising. The "tour"lasted about an hour, I didn't pay attention to anything the tour guide said, I just took pictures and enjoyed the relaxing breeze :)

Vacation Pictures - Part Four

Here's our pictures from the St. Louis Zoo. We've been wanting to take Chloe to the zoo for quite some time so it was nice to finally be able to. She loves animals :) This is a really nice zoo and admission is free so that was an added bonus!

Home Sweet Home

We are back from vacation. We had loads of fun. I will be posting some pictures over the next few days from our vacation, I haven't had a chance to really look them over yet, I took over 200 pictures so it's gonna take some time to go through them!

But for now, here's a picture I took of
The Gateway Arch... the little man in the lower right-hand corner is Lenny!

Road Trip

Road Trip! The family is leaving today for a mini-vacation. We are traveling down to St. Louis. Gonna check out the Gateway Arch, the zoo, the children's musuem, maybe the clydesdales, the hotel pool and I'm sure several restaurants :)

Have a great week!

Pray, baby, pray

Isn't this adorable? When we pray at the dinner table or any other time for that matter, Chloe does this cute thing where she puts her hands on the side of her head or sometimes she covers her ears, I have no idea where she got this from or why she does that when she prays, but it's super cute!

Morning, noon and night

The four wheeler. Chloe is obessed with riding this thing! Morning, noon and night it's all she wants to do. When she gets up in the morning first thing she usually does is go find the helmets and head for the back door :-) One night last week, daddy took her for a late night ride, one last trip around the yard before bed; anyway after a few times around the house Lenny noticed that she was leaning back against his chest and was being very still, he looked down and she was asleep! She had fallen asleep on the 4-wheeler, crazy girl :-) I wish I had been there, I would have loved a picture of that.

Caleb

Caleb doesn't cooperate well when it comes to taking pictures. He hates it. Typical male. Well this afternoon I bargained with him to get some new pictures. His birthday is coming up next month and I wanted a picture to use as an invitation, so I basically said he'd better cooperate well for these photos or I couldn't make an invitation, if no invitation then no party :-) In between "my poses" I let him create his own poses, which were quite strange, his ideas were: showing off his belly, flashing his big wad of cash, picking his nose, some crazy ninja pose... quite hilarious. But in the midst of those shots, I actually got some decent ones! :-)

P.S. Though it appears that Caleb looks mad or bored in picture #2 he's not, that is just his "serious" look :-)
